Too Pure And Beggars Banquet Labels Both Closed Down

May 2, 2008

Maybe it’s no news and just some “industry restructuring:” Maybe it’s just a business move from people with a lack of musical history. The Beggars Group have made an announcement today – they are to close two of its imprints – the influential Too Pure and Beggars Banquet. The new shake-up will however, result in 4AD being expanded with the acts currently signed with Too Pure and Beggars Banquet – such as Stereolab, The National and Scout Niblett – being moved to 4AD.

The Guardian wrote an article on it.
