Altar of Plagues will play Friday 18 September.

Altar of Plague from Cork, Ireland, shift between unrelenting, two chord black metal buzzsaw riffs, colossal melodies, lengthy atmospheric parts that build up tension and murky electronic soundscapes. Imagine a combination of Secrets of the Moon, Neurosis, Primordial and a little like The Axis of Perdition.

2008 saw them sign to Profound Lore Records as well as supporting black metal legends Mayhem on their European tour. Terrorizer magazine about their debut: “one of the most promising debuts since Wolves in the Throne Room’s ‘Diadem of 12 stars’”. You could definitely compare the music of Altar of Plagues with those American farmers of WitTR that conquered the European stages the last couple of years.
