An Emerald City will play Sunday 20 September.

Emerald is a green and not very hard stone. Not the preferred material when you want to build a city, you would think. Nevertheless are there at least ten cities on the globe that have Emerald City as a nickname. Maybe it has something to do with other qualities this gem possesses: it is beautiful and mysterious.

Those qualities can also be found in the music of the band An Emerald City hailing from New Zealand. Melting oriental melodies with trance-like post rock structures, An Emerald City creates a flying carpet of sound that takes you right into a mythical Arab city and lets you fly around minarets and over the head of snake-charmers in the streets.  Fly into that dreamy wonderland you always thought only theme-parks could create.
