DJ DistortedChaos is our DJ in between the Der Blutharsch, Deutsch Nepal and Bain Wolfkind gigs during coming Incubate. But he is also heavily involved with the Summer Darkness festival in Utrecht that kicked off yesterday and will end sunday very late.

So we asked him which bands Incubate blog readers definitely should not miss during this ‘dark underground lifestyle weekend’. (It’s cooler than it sounds, really).

Friday:

There will be an amazing Cyberia clubnight with Uberbyte, Tyske Ludder, the Cruxshadows and Covenant. But before you go there, you should check out Sieben in the Dom church!

Saturday:

“Noise Central Festival is the collective name for drone, noise, industrial, martial etc. music during Summer Darkness. These kinds of music are well represented on the Saturday. Saturday starts around noon with an ambient and drone matinee in SJU with Spherical Disrupted and The [Law-Rah] Collective.

After that (around 15:30) you should go to Ekko for the X-rated stage with: the reflective folk du monde of :Golgatha:, the climax of martial neofolk by Triarii, the WWI-historical, “poppy” heart sores of Dernière Volonté and power electronics at their most extreme by Brighter Death Now. Come and see this!

And to make your NCF day complete you should head to the other part of town, because in Tivoli de Helling at 22:15 (during Dernière Volonté) NCF will start its late night Industrial program which will go on 05:00! Here you can see the rhythmic noise assault in alien outfit: 5F-X of Hands Productions’ fame. Do not miss this unique chance to witness this special and hardly ever playing live act! With before that: unpredictable, blasting and cathartic music to dance to by Nullvektor, S.K.E.T., and MS Gentur and in between: something a little different. Klangstabil‘s highly intelligent music and strong emotional show will surely caress and impress the audience!
