Today we’ve got some rather new bands for you. First up is a guy called Timber Timbre, who sounds like a more serious version of Devendra Banhart. His selftitled record is released by Canadian quality label Arts & Crafts, known for bands like Stars, Broken Social Scene, The Dears and Feist. He provides some very intimate and sometimes dark folk songs. Recommended for people who loved Castanets on ZXZW 2008, although Timber Timbre is less experimental.

Daniel Francis Doyle

Lo-fi noise and weird pop one man band Daniel Francis Doyle has been making music for almost ten years, both solo and with his band When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth. His third solo record We Bet Our Money On You came out earlier this year on We Shot JR. It’s containing lo-fi pop songs that fans of Jonathan Richman, Pavement and The Robot Ate Me probably would like. The main instrument of Daniel Francis Doyle are the drums, to which he adds some guitar loops and vocals. His remarkable songwriting does the rest.

Lars+Ludvig+Lfgren+lll

From the north of Sweden comes this nice little record label called Häleri. Their goal is to release good indie music from local acts. In case you didn’t know: in Sweden there are a LOT of great local acts. One of the first releases on Häleri is Lars Ludvig Löfgren’s second record called Heterochromia. Löfgren sounds like an indierock Neil Young, or a more jangly Evan Dando. His music isn’t really edgy, but the songs are well crafted and make you want to listen to them over and over again. Download one of the songs of Heterochromia for free at Bandcamp.
