The Incubate Gospel According To Robert Meijerink

August 27, 2009

‘The Incubate gospel according to’ section gives you tips from insiders. Check others out here.

Who are you?
My name is Robert Meijerink and I’m promoter of Doornroosje, Nijmegen and I’m booker of EuroSonic Noorderslag (Groningen) and Festival de-Affaire (Nijmegen).

What will you be doing during Incubate 2009 (Sept. 13-20)?

Visting Incubate at least 1 day probably 2 days

Which three artists do you recommend to see at Incubate 2009? (These do not have to be strictly music, of course).

There are so many acts worthed to check out, so it’s pretty hard to answer this question. I want to highlight 3 new & upcoming acts besides ‘must see’ acts like Soap&Skin, Orchestre Poly Rythmo de Cotonou, TV Buddhas, Danananakroyd and the whole dubstep program.

*Schlachtofbronx (Germany and especially Bayern is known for their beers but this will change soon into Schlachtofbronx because Schlachtofbronx kicks ass).

*Wardruna (I’m looking forward to see this norwegians in the woods of Tilburg. With their own manufactured instruments and their own way of playing music: folk meets metal meets classical music)

*De Anale Fase (brand new folky folks from Belgium).

Which artist would you like to see on Incubate 2010?
Many good acts who are not discovered yet.
