The Incubate gospel according to Tom Ketelaar

September 3, 2009

‘The Incubate gospel according to’ section gives you tips from insiders. Check others out here.

Who are you?
Tom, promotor at Effenaar in Eindhoven

What will you be doing during Incubate 2009 (Sept. 13-20)?
Mainly drinking beer I suppose (experience from last years) and checking some cool new bands.
As there are always many friends around, who also like beer, it often happens that you don’t see the bands you planned to check (sounds familiar to many of you probably…)

Which three artists do you recommend to see at Incubate 2009?
Hmm, there are so many things to check out, way too many if you ask me. Probably all the bands I want to see play at the same time, though I know Incubate is one of the few festivals that actually HAVE a logical balance in their program.

I don’t wanna miss Pirate Love, a new signing on Voodoo Rhythm records. Psychedelic garage stuff from Oslo, like Beatman in the kitchen with The Horrors.

I am happy that the guys booked The Damned, a very relevant punkband ofcourse and fits well in the idea of the festival.

If I will manage to stay up till 04.00 on saterday I will go and see SchlachthofBronx. What a songs on their myspace, crazy German scheisse this!

Which band would you like to see on Incubate 2010?
pff, I can only think of big names right now, no obscure things come to mind…
For this year I miss Wavves, Vivian Girls, Frank Turner and White Denim. Great bands with a Incubate spririt.
