Interview with Birds of a Feather and Get the Most

September 8, 2009

AsIce posted two interviews with the Incubate artists Birds of a Feather and Get the Most here. They are both on the same page.

Birds of a Feather: Friday 18 September | 22:30 – 23:00 | Little Devil

Would you yourself be interested visiting such a festival with such variety of acts? Did you see any acts on the bill of Incubate outside the punk and hardcore genre that you would be interest to check out? Why or why not?

JP: Of course I’m interested in visiting a festival with such a variety of bands. That’s just a great initiative! Aside from this, my musical taste is not limited to just hardcore and punk. I’m into a lot of indie rock and new wave bands. A couple of bands that I definitely don’t want to miss out on, aside from hardcore and punk bands are The Damned (we got to rush through our 20 minutes set for that, so that I’m going to be able to see something of their show), Misery Signals and Masshysteri.

Get the Most: Friday 18 September | 20:00 – 20:30 | Extase

Does your band have a message to spread that would do well with a different audience? Or are you afraid that people won’t understand your views and ideas?

Our ideas that are expressed aren’t necessarily ones that would exclude people that may or not be in the hardcore scene. I have things I like to sing about that are on my mind, they don’t have to be relevant to any certain audience. In my mind everyone can find some sort of relation to our songs somehow. We haven’t played to many audiences that aren’t of the punk and hardcrore variety but occasionally I will talk to someone after our set and they will tell me how they had never heard or seen us before and they connected to us in some manner. It usually then sparks a conversation, which is always awesome.
