That’s crap. You release an awesome looking split seven-inch picture disc (this one) with Pulled Apart By Horses and Holy State (both Incubate 2009 artists) and accidentally press the demo-version of a song on it. That’s what happened to our friends of Holy Roar Records. The Holy State song ‘Urges’ is on it, but it’s a live demo which wasn’t supposed to be released. Oops!
The limited edition (only 500 pressed) can’t be pulled back by the indie label, so now it will become even a bigger collectors item (we have one!) than it already was, since the demo-version will never appear on any other release or as mp3.
Just to make up, Holy Roar now offers the correct (!!) version of ‘Urges’ in mp3 via NME.com for one week only. (buyers of the vinyl will also receive the mp3 via e-mail). Also check the full explanation on the event from Alex Fitzpatrick from Holy Roar on the NME page.
And just to make you even more happy: we’re pretty sure there’ll be Holy Roar bands on Incubate 2010, just like there were Holy Roar artists on the previous editions!
