One of the the greatest festivals in The Netherlands is Le Guess Who? in Utrecht. This year it takes place from November 26th till November 30th and we will be there. To persuade you to also go to the festival we’ll give you 14 tips in 14 days.

On the sunday afternoon there’s Micah P Hinson, a musician who has been through a lot of stuff. He was bankrupt, addicted, ended up on the street, in jail and in  psychiatry (not sure about the order), but he crawled up and now has a rather succesful career as singer/songwriter. He has been compared to Dylan,  Smog and Lambchop and a lot of others and not without a reason. His voice is as dark and beautiful as the voice of Smog’s Bill Callahan, but he also pays tribute to some of his predecessors on his new cover album All Dressed Up And Smelling Of Strangers. People like Leonard Cohen, Frank Sinatra, John Denver, Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan. And if Hinson goes on with making fantastic records like The Red Empire Orchestra, he’ll be soon at home in this list. This is not your average songwriter, some of his songs are truely brilliant.
