The mighty Ronnie James Dio was about to play at 013 Tilburg next Wednesday, but it was announced he was diagnosed with early stages of stomach cancer. The gig is cancelled and we hope Dio will have a quick recovery. In this special we’ll highlight some of the greatest things the singer has done in his career.

Dio formed and played in Elf, the 1967 heavy metal band which also carried the names The Electric Elves and The Elves. They released three albums before breaking up in 1975. Here’s a record of the song ‘Gambler, Gambler’ from their first release.
