Eric made the Alan Parsons Project one of the most amazing and least understood of the progresive rock bands of all time and yet thier legacy is far more powerful as thier music and passion will be timeless. Only true pioneers and artis understand thier statement and music. "Eric look forward to the next adventure my friend, after the Friendly card I owe you my life"

Just learned of Eric's passing today while watching a YouTube video. Heartbroken. What a tremendous loss, but your music will live on. All wishes, hopes and dreams from this side of the door, To One In Paradise.

I did not know that Eric had passed but I'm very sorry to hear it. His haunting vocals on so many songs will last forever - listening to him sing Nothing Left To Lose could always cheer me up.

You read the book, you turn the page
You change your life in a thousand ways
The dawn of reason lights your eyes
With the key, you realize
To the kingdom of the wise.

He's gone to that kingdom.

I met Eric at Abbey Road Studios as a member of the Brighton Festival Chorus. We recorded a few tracks for his musical, The Gambler. I am saddened to hear of his passing away - he was a very warm and vibrant individual who has left an impressive musical legacy. Rest in Peace.

I had always hoped that Alan and Eric would join together again to create more of the magic. Eric will be terribly missed, but his memory lives on in all of his works. RIP.

I've been a fan of Eric's - and the Project's - since "I Robot", and his voice and pen and keyboard have carried me through many a storm of the heart, and the few spans of calmer waters... often stilled, or stirred, by his voice.

Perhaps it's not incredible, after all, that I've just this evening heard of his passing: outside of the spotlight and never hungry for the accolades, of course his passage from this world to the next came while I was looking and listening elsewhere.

Eric, old friend, the keys are still and cool now, the strings no more atremble, your chords themselves at rest. Yet your love of the music - a gift you gave easily and naturally - carries still your gentle life... and the tiny, light comfort of knowing that time-the-river indeed still flows, and is in fact not gone forever; nor, then, are you.

And so this, too, is just another rest between the notes... and carries with it a prayer from us to meet you and hear you again in the next studio.

My God! I thought it was a bad joke when I heard about Eric's passing. I still can't believe he is gone. I am a big romanian fan of his work with The Project and of his solo materials. His latest album is a masterpiece and if I listen to this album with my eyes closed, it's like listening to Alan Parsons Project made in 2009!
May God rest your soul in peace, Eric! You'll always be remembered...

Eric Woolfson passed away on December 2, 2009, at 3AM in London. It has been now revealed that he had fought for years a struggle against cancer. Nevertheless, with special assistance from family and friends, in last times he was more creative ever and kept contacts with fans until the last minute, never revealing his state.

An artist with unique creativity: writer of most of the 10 APP albums (on which he often played piano and sometimes sang lead) and 5 theatrical musicals, and right now he was doing a series of 4 albums, of which he completed the 1st.

He also had a special compositive style which balanced always original chord sequences, multiple-interpretation lyrics with grand concepts, a unique style as pianist and a sincere voice which many fans appreciate. Yet, he considered himself mostly as an author and stayed modestly behind the scenes. Nevertheless he was very kind, as when he welcomed me and other fans in Abbey Road in 2003 like at home.

Besides his unsurpassed music, the biggest treasure that he left to us is the huge amount of human relationships that exists thanx to him, regarding his family, but also hundreds of musicians, actors, other collaborators, and thousands of fans around the world, various of which are my friends.

It's this, and not only his work, which makes him immortal - "If you remember me, I am immortal" he sings as last lines in his latest published album. And it's for this reason, that we all must have courage and continue the mission of promoting the culture of his music and playing it.

I sang on demos 0f his songs back in thre early 60's.

He was always involved in something and he really made it big.

He got me to sing on "Pyramid" with Alan Parsons, and I'll
always be grateful for that.
