From 14 to 16 January, the annual Eurosonic/Noorderslag showcase festival will take place in Groningen, The Netherlands. This year with a lot of former Incubate/ZXZW artists included in the line-up! We tip bands you might like.

Never mind the typical stonerrock band they used to be. The ‘new’ The Mad Trist will release their debut album ‘Pay The Piper’ on PIAS next week, and we love it. The  band from the South of the Netherlands started back in 2005. I saw them live a year or two later. To be honest, I thought they suck at that time. But times have changed; a new bass player was added to the band, they changed style and here they are. The new The Mad Trist. Became runner up at the international Emergenza festival last year and signed a record deal with PIAS. ‘Pay The Piper’ is produced by the frontman of the worst band the country got in touch with last year, De Staat, but gladly that didn’t fuck up the album at all ;-)
