R.I.P. Arjen Grolleman (1972 – 2010)

Dutch radiomaker Arjen Grolleman passed away today very unexpected, his employer learns us on their frontpage. Arjen worked at Kink FM, one of the coolest alternative radio stations in The Netherlands. From early 2006 until today he managed this station, after being involved with Kink FM since the establishment of it in 1995. He was also active on twitter. Only 18 hours ago, he posted his last tweet. Arjen was 37 years old.

    Grolleman was the best Dutch DJ of the last 15 years, and would be of the next 15. Ecclectic and funny renaissance man, and musicologist above all. Loved to listen to him and his programs. He will be missed greatly.

    I am a great fan of aardschock, kink fm and x-rated. It is my favorrite radioprogamm to cool down. On Sunday I use to drink some red wine and listen to x-rated. I learned to understand a bit of Dutch, even I live in the southern part of Germany neay Ulm.

    So it is a tragedy to loose such a profiled radio maker. I wish Kink FM to overcome that huge loss. R.I.P., your friends will always remember you.

    What a shock! Only got to listen to him for about 8 months – he was my favorite voice on radio. Why did he die – does anyone know more about this accident?

    Ja, ik vraag me ook af wat er gebeurt is, is hij echt gevallen ?
    en ergens lijkt alsof KINKFM deze vreselijke dood zo snel
    mogelijk wil vergeten….
    Er zou toch een groot radio-feestje georganiseerd moeten worden een avond lang een eerbetoon aan Grolleman.
