This Saturday Incubate will curate a stage at the Europe Mania Festival. The festival takes place in Pécs, Hungary from the 6th until the 8th of may. On may 8th Incubate will host the Brewery stage.

Multi-instrumentalist and Incubate’s very own artistic leader Vincent Koreman a.k.a. Vince the Prince will spin the decks under the moniker of Sonido del Principe this Saturday on Europe Mania. In doing so, he will be accompanied by DJ Umb. Vincent has been active for years in loads of different music and art projects and has gained fame as Ra-X, The House of Destructo and This is Total War among others. Also, Vincent and DJ Umb are the driving force behind the Generation Bass blog, thé blog on non-western dance music.

A couple of years ago Vincent discovered the world of cumbia, a South American musical genre for the working class, with beautiful songs on everyday life in the favelas of Buenos Aires and Colombia. From this point on he started experimenting with the genre, mixing it with old school house and bass oriented music. Within three days he had created his own nu cumbia tracks and it only took another five days for the first labels to approach him to release them. Check out some of his stuff for free right here.

On Europe Mania Sonido del Principe and DJ Umb will bring you a tropical mix of funk, bassline, house, experimental dub, dancehall and afro beat mixed up with non-western dance music. Nu Cumbiaaa!
