Only a few more months until Incubate 2010. For the past few months we’ve been announcing new artists every week. But with 200+ artists coming up in September we can imagine you’re losing your hold. That’s why we compiled the Incubate 2010 Spotify playlist. Subscribing to this playlist will get you acquainted with a good part of the Incubate 2010 bands.
Apart from their music, part of the getting-to-know-them-better-proces will also be us asking some of the artists a few questions in the upcoming months. First one in a series:
1.Can you please introduce yourself?
I am Joachim Nordwall. I am in a band for monotonous rock and drone stuff called The Skull Defekts.
2.Where are you at the moment?
In my studio in Gothenburg, Sweden listening to some Haitian Vodou drum rituals which is amazingly exciting stuff. Trying to get some work done too.
3.Have you played in the Netherlands before and if so, what’s your view on or experience with the scene you’re operating in in The Netherlands?
Yeah. I played The Netherlands a few times before. Also with my old band Kid Commando. Last time was with The Skull Defekts at WORM in Rotterdam. Great place. I see the scene as a very international thing. There’s not much difference between the different European ones as far as I can see. We toured China. That was different. To say the least.
4.What can we expect of your gig at the Incubate Festival?
Rhythm. Sweat. Sound. Noise. Delivered by four Swedes on stage.
5.What are your plans for the (near) future?
We have recorded an album together with Daniel Higgs on vocals which will be released in the fall, after that we will tour the Us together with him. We also have some other recordings coming out too and some weekend shows in Europe before that.
