[inQ&A] Action Beat

June 15, 2010

Only a few more months until Incubate 2010. For the past few months we’ve been announcing new artists every week. But with 200 + artists coming up in September we can imagine you losing your hold. That’s why we compiled the Incubate 2010 Spotify playlist (http://incu.at/spotify). Subscribing to this playlist will get you acquainted with most of the Incubate 2010 bands.

Apart from their music, part of the getting-to-know-them-better-proces will also be us asking some of the artists a few questions in the upcoming months. The thirteenth edition in a series:

Action Beat

1.Can you please introduce yourself?
Don – Action Beat

2.Where are you at the moment?
New York City.

3.Have you played in the Netherlands before and if so, what’s your view on or experience with the scene you’re operating in in The Netherlands?
We have played many times in the Netherlands, but mainly at 301 in Amesterdam. We love this particular building, as it is so well organised, and just a very friendly and wonderful place to play. The squats that you have in the Netherlands are really something special and all squats should be celebrated by society, rather than deplored. We really don’t have them in the UK, which is a shame. I don’t know why, but it just doesn’t happen?! We are probably too obsessed with private property, and the law really doesn’t allow it. It’s not cool. Squats in NL are full of interesting people, progressive politics, good food, and good times.

4.What can we expect of your gig at the Incubate Festival?
8 people going absolutely fucking apeshit to the most intense noise rock you are likely to hear.

5.What are your plans for the (near) future?
We are touring from September to December, and plans will formulate after that tour. We can’t plan our future too much, because we don’t have a clue what will happen. Does anyone?

Heart In Hand is a band I’ve been following since their birth. Over the years they’ve grown as a band and eventually found their [...]
