Only three more months until Incubate 2010. For the past few months we’ve been announcing new artists every week. But with 200 + artists coming up in September we can imagine you losing your hold. That’s why we compiled the Incubate 2010 Spotify playlist (http://incu.at/spotify). Subscribing to this playlist will get you acquainted with most of the Incubate 2010 bands.
Apart from their music, part of the getting-to-know-them-better-proces will also be us asking some of the artists a few questions in the upcoming months. The twenty-second edition in a series:
1.Can you please introduce yourself?
Hi there, we are Vanderbuyst, a Dutch Hard Rock band formed in 2008. Think of guitar riffs, a lot of solo’s, headbangers in tight jeans and you’ll get the picture. We play 70/80 Hard Rock, early NWoBHM and are influenced by bands like UFO, Thin Lizzy and Rainbow.
2.Where are you at the moment?
Right now we are working on our debut full-length. It is almost finished, three tracks to go. We’re recording at the Void-studio in Eindhoven, which is a true heaven if you like the authentic Hard Rock sound.
3.Have you played in the Netherlands before and if so, what’s your view on or experience with the scene you’re operating in in The Netherlands?
Yes, since we are a Dutch band we have played a lot in Holland. The audience that came to see us is mostly a mix of old metal maniacs and hot teens. But as a friend of ours said: “All those looking for the latest in nu-metal, go find it somewhere else. If you only focus on the past, keep digging. However, when you’re into sublime Hard Rock, we’ll see you in the front row at the next gig of VANDERBUYST!”
4.What can we expect of your gig at the Incubate Festival?
What we always do. Rock hard, as if we are standing in an arena in front of 40.000 headbangers.
5.What are your plans for the (near) future?
Release our album in September. Go on tour. And have a big party at the Incubate Festival in Tilburg. See you there!
