[inQ&A] Accelerators

July 6, 2010

Only two more months until Incubate 2010. For the past few months we’ve been announcing new artists every week. But with 200 + artists coming up in September we can imagine you losing your hold. That’s why we compiled the Incubate 2010 Spotify playlist (http://incu.at/spotify). Subscribing to this playlist will get you acquainted with most of the Incubate 2010 bands.

Apart from their music, part of the getting-to-know-them-better-proces will also be us asking some of the artists a few questions in the upcoming months. The thirty-fourth edition in a series:

Accelerators

1.Can you please introduce yourself?
We’re Accelerators, a punk rock band from Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Played well over 300 shows in 16 different countries from Norway to Morocco and from Ireland to Serbia. Our debut album came out last year on Stardumb Records (The Madd, El Pino & The Volunteers, The Apers) and was highly appreciated by the Dutch music press. The 2nd pressing of the album is nearly sold out so we’re planning a re-release.

2.Where are you at the moment?
In March and April 2010 we did a 50 shows in 50 days tour across Europe and now we’re back in our hometown, Rotterdam, working on the next album among other things.

3.Have you played in the Netherlands before and if so, what’s your view on or experience with the scene you’re operating in in The Netherlands?
We are from the Netherlands and the punk rock scene is small right now. Fortunately we get to play tons of awesome shows over here. Not only in the punk rock scene but also to different kind of crowds, which seems to work great for us.

4.What can we expect of your gig at the Incubate Festival?
A fast, loud, fun punk rock party! Don’t miss out!

5.What are your plans for the (near) future?

As mentioned we are working on a new album, not sure when this will be recorded yet, we’re aiming for better so we’re taking our time. This summer we are playing shows with bands like NOFX, Bad Religion, The Dwarves, Fucked Up and Nine Pound Hammer in Europe. Also we want to tour Argentina!!
