[inQ&A] Year Of The Flood

July 9, 2010

Only two more months until Incubate 2010. For the past few months we’ve been announcing new artists every week. But with 200 + artists coming up in September we can imagine you losing your hold. That’s why we compiled the Incubate 2010 Spotify playlist (http://incu.at/spotify). Subscribing to this playlist will get you acquainted with most of the Incubate 2010 bands.

Apart from their music, part of the getting-to-know-them-better-proces will also be us asking some of the artists a few questions in the upcoming months. The thirty-seventh edition in a series:

Year of the Flood

1.Can you please introduce yourself?
We’re Year of the Flood and we play epic, very heavy d-beat. We’re made up of CJ on vocals, Lister and Mars on Vocals and Guitar, Phil on Vocals and Bass and Baz on Drums. We’re from Nottingham, England.

2.Where are you at the moment?
Sat uncomfortably on the floor using my housemate’s laptop to type this.

3.Have you played in the Netherlands before and if so, what’s your view on or experience with the scene you’re operating in in The Netherlands?
4 out of 5 of us played last year’s impressively organised Incubate Festival at the Little Devil when we were in Jesus of Spazzareth and we had an awesome time. We were only there for the one night and we stayed with an awesome guy called Robin who really looked after us, showed us around and generally made us feel totally welcome. If Robin is indicative of the type of people who make up the scene in The Netherlands then that’s all good with me.

4.What can we expect of your gig at the Incubate Festival?
Crushing riffs, tortured vocals and some melodic passages building to Monumental slabs of epic d-beat. Bring your ear defenders. And a portable fan; our gigs get pretty intense.

5.What are your plans for the (near) future?
We’ve just released our debut EP so we’re promoting that (www.yearoftheflood.bandcamp.com ) right now. We’re booking gigs throughout the UK for the next few months and in the meantime writing material for our first full length album which will have with us by the time we play Incubate.
