[inQ&A] Invasion

August 25, 2010

Less than one month until Incubate 2010. For the past few months we’ve been announcing new artists every week. But with 200 + artists coming up in September we can imagine you losing your hold. That’s why we compiled the Incubate 2010 Spotify playlist (http://incu.at/spotify). Subscribing to this playlist will get you acquainted with most of the Incubate 2010 bands.

Apart from their music, part of the getting-to-know-them-better-proces will also be us asking some of the artists a few questions in the upcoming months. The sixty-ninth edition in a series:

Invasion

1.Can you please introduce yourself?
We are ‘Invasion’. Zel on drunk battle-drums, Marek on classic riff delivery and Chantal on soulful vocal annihilation.

2.Where are you at the moment?
The Dark Realm of London – and very much looking forward to our adventure in your old town of Tilburg.

3.Have you played in the Netherlands before and if so, what’s your view on or experience with the scene you’re operating in in The Netherlands?
Incubate festival will be our first time in the Netherlands, we’re stoked to be playing because we love that part of the world. We’ve heard that Tilburg and Incubate are both awesome places to visit. Our singer Chan has family who live there too so she is staying afterwards to party for longer. We are also interested in the Dutch band The Devils Blood who are doing well and have a broadly similar sound to us (we are heavier and less evil though, haha). We are looking forward to seeing Wino and being introduced to some new bands too.

4.What can we expect of your gig at the Incubate Festival?
Lots of unrelenting real old heavy metal, a robed soulstress invoking magick in her bare feet, wizards, fire, booze and a chaotic good time!

5.What are your plans for the (near) future?
We are currently midway through writing our second album which we are due to release early next year… Its sounding very heavy and we are super excited to nearing completion of it. After that we will be taking it to the masses and doing as many shows as possible, hopefully more in Europe where we always have a great time.

[Art Monday] Review – Re:Rotterdam & RAW Rotterdam

February 13, 2012

Geeske Bijker Rotterdam was the visual art capital of the Netherlands this weekend. Besides the high art gathering of Art Rotterdam, there were many other initiatives like RAW, Re:Rotterdam, Paviljoen and Object. To much for one day, so I decided to narrow down to ‘Re:’ and ‘RAW’. Re: Rotterdam is held is in an empty [...]
