[Today at Incubate] Day 4: Shikari, Lucky Dragons, sweded movies and a lot more

September 15, 2010

Day 4: Wednesday September 15
The earth will rumble today at Incubate. Tonight we’ll set loose a screamo explosion called Shikari! For those of you who don’t know, this legendary Dutch hardcore/screamo band had a major impact on the international hardcore scene at the beginning of this millennium and split up in 2005. They’re back together now and will take the stage tonight at V39 together with three other bands Shikari themselves have invited: The Hunger, Expulsion and Drainland. Caution: highly explosive show!

Less explosive but no less fun will be the interactive shows by Lucky Dragons. In the afternoon they’ll play a special show for the kids as part of the Kinderpret children’s program at the Paradox. Next to Lucky Dragons there will be lots more interactive adventures for the kids this afternoon, as you can see here. In the evening Lucky Dragons will play a free show for everyone at Cul de Sac!

As for our filmprogram, tonight you we’ll go paranormal on you with another movie by the Asylum called Paranormal Entity as well as the movie Paranormal Ascendancy. Next to this you can enjoy a collection of Sweded Movies. Sweded movies? Yes, if you’ve seen the comedy Be Kind Rewind you’re probably familiar with the concept already. In this movie the main characters accidently erase some movies and decide to recreate them themselves. This started a big internet hype with people all over the world sweding their favorite movies. We’ve selected the best ones for you and we’ll screen them tonight at the filmfoyer. For free.

New today is the exhibition This is War by Thomas L’Anson at the Freshheads headquarters. We’ll open that at 10.00 and from then on you can go see it every day from 10.00 to 18.00.

Ofcourse there is another great Woccii music program at Paradox tonight and next to all that you can still go and download your favorite music, movies and software at our Kiosk of Piracy (bring your laptop or pc!), go see Tanis/Verhoef and Martijn Hendriks & Ryan Trecartion and the OCCII Poster expo, or check out Hester Schearwater‘s beaming or the many statues in the city center of Tilburg wearing pirated clothes made by the Incubate Sweatshop.

More info on all artists and the program can of course be found at our site and in the Incubate festival guide. Timetables can be found here.

Happy Incubating!
