[Year list] Erik’s Top 1 albums of 2010

December 21, 2010

Erik doesn’t like year lists. Especially when they’re released before the end of the year. Why not wait ’till the end of the year? Some (printed)  media ask their writers to compose a list half October. That’s pathetic. This way, albums like Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (but not in Vincent’s) or Nikoo’s Family & Friends are missing in many of these stupid lists. Too bad, as these are some of the finest recordings of the year 2010.

Beside; music is not really a competition. What’s the difference between number 10 and 20 in your list? Does it bother anyone? No. And who’s reading the year lists anyway? Year lists are crap. Nonsense. Elitist. Bullshit.

But picking one favorite album of the year is easy and comprehensible; what artists did you listen to the most this year? Nobody reads the whole top 20, 50 or 1.000 you’ve precisely composed. A top one is clear, represents the year of that person and to be honest;  only the best really matters, doesn’t it?
That’s why I present to you: My Top 1 chart of albums released in 2010!
