[Go see] New Idea Society @ Cul de Sac

February 18, 2011

Our friends over at Cul de Sac, a cool bar in the centre of Tilburg, booked New Idea Society this Sunday. Entrance is only 4 euros so go and see this band which is a sideproject from Cave In’s vocalist/guitarist Stephen Brodsky.

From the Cul de Sac website:

New Idea Society was originally founded with a simple enough concept; record songs that challenge mediocrity and that are sonically exciting.  On their previous full lengths, the lo-fi experimentation of You Are Awake Or Asleep, and the mostly live in-studio performances of The World Is Bright And Lonely, are portraits of a band growing comfortable in its own skin.  This years Quiet Prism EP contained hints of what was to come.  However, with the writing and recording of Somehow Disappearing, NIS presents their first fully fleshed out complete album created as a band, with unique sonic recordings that match the song moods and performances that reflect the identities of the individual band members.
