Evan Caminiti is one half of the drone duo Barn Owl, who are set to perform at Incubate 08. Besides Barl Owl, he’s focussing on his solo project as well, under his own name. ‘Static Waves’ moves from airy echoes into thick blurry buzz smeared into drifting clouds of fuzz-damaged smouldering shimmer and back to drift through soft clouds of ghostly hum and whirl. ‘Last Transmission’ on the B features slow tones throbing and pulsing into arcing streaks of feedback which slowly unfurl into gauzy shimmer, layered and textured and expansive. A minimal and intimate but so sweeping and epic record.’
