[Incu Thursday] Four new additions to the Incubate 2011 lineup including The Fresh & Onlys and Gorgasm

Hi there! This is Incu Thursday. Every Thursday, 14:00h local time, we announce the musicians that were confirmed for the Incubate 2011 festival during the past week. Whether it’s one or twenty names, as long as we have things to confirm… We have also added (legal) free downloads from every band which you can find by heading up to the artist page by clicking on the artists’ name.

Four new ones this week! We have a smashing death metal package including Gorgasm, Defeated Sanity and Amagortis as well as the psychedelic garage rock of The Fresh & Onlys!
Those who’ve seen Defeated Sanity at Neurotic Deathfest last year know that this band will bring some unequalled death metal brutality to Incubate. They recently added a new force to the army with Konstantin Lühring from Despondency (RIP) on vocal duties. Expect some technical madness that will make every self-proclaimed “technical” band on the planet sound too straight forward. Low, brutal vocals with complex bass tabs and lighting fast drumming that sometimes even leans towards jazzy parts.
Around and about since 1996 but temporary inactive for five years, Gorgasm recently reformed with a brand new line-up except for the core of the band, Damian Leski (Guitars/Vocals) Nevertheless, their technical brutality will be razor sharp as always. Taking the inevitable basics from bands like Suffocation and Dying Fetus, they take death metal to the next step with gore obsessed (hence the name) lyrics, complex guitar riffs and drums which will groove all the way down the show. First tour in Europe since the reformation!
Straight from the Alps from Swiss we welcome Amagortis to this year’s Incubate. But don’t expect any yodeling; more like muddy low grunts like a sucking pig trapped in a well. Wonder what happens when Dying Fetus smoke to much pot? Amagortis is what would come out! Disgusting mid-tempo death metal driven by superb drumming that sounds like a whole rhythm section is marching through your living room. And don’t expect it all to be too serious, Amagortis loves a good dose of humor in their music!
Second chances dó matter with bands like this, so hereby we present to you The Fresh & Onlys! They had to pull out of last year’s Incubate festival, but will make a second attempt this year. Deeply rooted in the psychedelic roots of San Francisco’s music, The Fresh & Only’s add a rawer garage sound to this with catchy echoing vocals, tambourine driven rhythms and reminiscent country guitar riffs. They have this nostalgic (60s) feel, yet are still with both feet on 21st century ground.

The presale for this year’s Incubate festival will start on Thursday the March 1st 2012, 10:00.
