[Incu Thursday] 4 new Incubate 2011 lineup additions including The War On Drugs and Zoviet France

Hi there! This is Incu Thursday. Every Thursday, 14:00h local time, we announce the musicians that were confirmed for the Incubate 2011 festival during the past week. Whether it’s one or twenty names, as long as we have things to confirm… 

Ticket sales have started here. There’s an early bird discount for the passepartouts which ends on May 31th! (that’s next Tuesday already!) So make sure you grab one soon! Of course we also have day tickets up for sale.

For the first time, Incubate will, by popular demand, offer a campsite. Busses will be carrying visitors between the campsite and the festival ground. You can buy your camping tickets through here.

This week The War On Drugs, Moon & Sun and Zoviet France have been added to the music line-up of Incubate 2011 as well as the movie The Ill Mannered Milkman to be screened at the festival.

The War on Drugs (UK) – 12/9

Kurt Vile leaving the band after the first debut album to pursue his solo career didn’t stop The War on Drugs from growing to be one of the most interesting bands around. They sound influenced by raids in the local second hand record stores for old Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen vinyl, while on the other hand spending long nights listening to Animal Collective, tipsy on red wine. They might have taken the name to please the authorities but judging their music, we’re sure there must be a bag of grass hidden somewhere…

Moon & Sun (SW) – 18/9

The crackling of the campfire on Moon & Sun’s debut EP sets exactly the intended atmosphere for the rhythmic singer-songwriter music. Moon & Sun is a project from the beautiful Swedish Monica Tormell with various collaborators, including Aruban steel drum legend Lee Connor. The lyrics music are based on a cultural investigation of space, guided by music that has reminiscent in between Fever Ray and Soap&Skin (Incubate 2009).


Zoviet France (US) – 18/9

Zoviet France make awesome dark ambient with slight industrial hints since 1982 and will be support act for Lustmord! The Ill Mannered Milkman (DE) – tba

Director: Willehad Eilers AKA Wayne Horse

The Ill Mannered Milkman is the new filmproject of visual artist Willehad Eilers, better known as Wayne Horse. It’s about motorbike champion Teddy Milks. About the ABC kids that might or might not be real. And above all, it’s a story about milk. BAD milk! Starring German schlager singer Adrian Falk, and American cage fighter Kent Hensley.
