Every day, ’till June 20th we will highlight some of the work the artists have handed in for our Open Source expo. We’d love to receive some of your work as well!
Today’s artists are:
Tineke Mierink – (also see photo above) “Tineke Meirink provides photographs of everyday situations of a minimal illustration, giving caracter to the everyday things in photos. Tineke Mierink (1972) is not a photographer but an illustrator. Therefore she probably looks with a little more imagination to a spot on a wall or on the pavement, a strangely shaped tree or other utensil. By taking a picture of it and to complement them with some drawn details these images come to life in a suprising way.” Also take a look at her blog here.

Lobke van Aar -“Lobke van Aar (1982) is an artist, working in the fields of illustration and design. She works from her studio in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. In her day to day life it’s the small things that can jump out and inspire her. She is simply fascinated by people and the whispers of the past. When she was a little girl she never went anywhere without her little suitcase filled with paper, pencils and markers. Today she prefers a unique approach for every situation wich challenges her to create something that’s properly original. Van Aar illustrates for nrc.next, Sesamstraat, Elsevier and many more. She has won the Silver Award at the European Design Awards and had multiple exhibitions at CBK ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Illustratie Biënalle Haarlem and the International Poster and Graphic design festival of Chaumont (FR).” For more information and examples visit her website here.
