Incubate is looking for piano’s for Play Me I’m Yours

July 15, 2011

“Imagine walking on a lonely street and stumbling across an abandoned piano… You start by tapping a few notes to see if it works and suddenly people start coming out of nowhere to join you and the sounds you create…”

Play Me I’m Yours’ is an artwork by British based artist Luke Jerram where he places pianos around a city, free for all to play on. The project has been done in cities like New York, London and Sidney and now ‘Play Me I’m Yours’ is coming to Tilburg. Over 400 pianos have now been installed in cities across the globe, from New York to Sydney, bearing the simple instruction ‘Play Me, I’m Yours’. Located in public parks, bus shelters and train stations, outside galleries and markets and even on bridges and ferries, the pianos are available for any member of the public to play and enjoy. Who plays them and how long they remain is up to each community. To make this project a big succes in Tilburg, we need YOUR help!

What are we looking for?

Piano’s. Lot’s of ‘em! New, used, occasions, secondhand, old, out of tune, it doesn’t matter! If you have a spare piano which you don’t use anymore and want to donate to this beatiful project, contact Tim via tim AT incubate DOT org.
