[Preview] What’s up at Incubate on Tuesday September 13?

September 13, 2011

What’s up on Tuesday September 13th?
To everyone who was there at 013 with Omar Souleyman, or The Kik in Cul De Sac or maybe The War On Drugs in Paradox: Good morning! We hope you do not feel to hung over. Some of us do. To everyone who’s visiting later this week or not at all: you’re already missing out! And to everyone who will make their Incubate 2011 debut today: welcome!  There’s a lot we want to show you.

Like some of the expositions we opened yesterday. Dimitar Solakov’s ‘Youth’-project in Bibliotheek Tilburg (Library Tilburg), for example. The project shows parts of the lives of Dimitar’s friends and acquaintances and other individuals. In addition to their pictures, it includes panoramic landscapes and various pictures of bugs, flowers, animals etc.
And while you’re at it, please check out New Jacks 3.0 in BKKC. An overview of five promising and emerging artists from Brabant. Or The Lost Relay, where artists discuss language, style, use of the room and the general state of the visual arts in a program that will take place daily at 20.00 at the Argument Room. Every day there will be new artists participating in the ongoing exhibition and every evening they will talk about the work!

Film
But we’ve got more. Like yesterday, we’ve got the  Open Source Film. Anybody could submit their video work to us for a place on the big screen. We put the best movies and shorts together for this program. And for those who like documentaries: NOVA – the film is a truly inspiring documentary by Isaac Niemand on new art and the young artists behind it. We meet some of the artists while they are creating works for the Nova Contemporary Culture festival 2010 in São Paulo, Brazil. Featuring both Koen Delaere and Jimmy Joe Roche, artists that have worked with us last year at Incubate 2010!

Music program
The music program for this Tuesday kicks off at Duvelhok, where ReAcct will bring the works of Keiko Harada and Tomi Räisänen amonst others. In Cul de Sac, two acts making name in the Dutch folk scene,The T.S. Eliot Appreciation Society and Bird, are perfoming. Meanwhile, Lightning Dust (with members of Incubate 2010′s Black Mountain) and Rainbow Arabia (photo on top) are taking the stage in Paradox.
Räpe Blossoms open 013 Small Hall at 21:00, followed by this Tuesday’s headliner HEALTH (photo below). After this you can still rock out to Tweak Bird in de Cul De Sac, where Kidnap The DJ ends the second day of Incubate.
