Is this week turning out awesome or what? Earlier this week The War On Drugs impressed in Paradox, Omar Souleyman got everybody jumping in 013 and HEALTH blew it up a day later (litteraly). The T.S. Eliot Appreciation Society, Bird and Lightning Dust impressed with intensely beautiful sets. And yesterday we had Nosaj Thing, Sleep Party People, Felix Kubin and Ford & Lopatin!
And today is Thursday so that means one thing… HEAVY METAL BOWLING!!
Unfortanely, it is sold-out. But for the metal-heads amongst you, we still have Obliteration and Aura Noir (photo on top) in 013! If that’s a bit too loud for you, Cul De Sac is the place to be with Dutch underground heroes Anne Frank Zappa (why didn’t we think if that bandname??) and Apneu and of course the garagepunk of Screaming Females (photo below).
And if you’re at Incubate to chill-out and to get goosebumps, Paradox is the place to be, with Puzzle Muteson, Sam Amidon and Sylvain Chauveau. And don’t forget to check out the immensely talented Santiago Lascurain in Duvelhok!
Also today we have this week’s first dance act It’s Definitely The Spiritual Thing. Created and directed by Halla Ólafsdóttir and Nadja Hjorton, it’s been described as a rock concert that does something entirely different. A must see for anyone who enjoys rock n’ roll and contemporary dance. Filmfoyer is still the place for Open Source Films and today we present some selected Klaus Beyer films. But we’ve also got Solar Cinema in Veemarktstraat (013, V39)! And if that’s not enough, we’ve got something really special: SMSlingshot. It’s an entirely new way to get your message across, so we advise you to check it out. It’s wicked!
Tomorrow is Friday, so for those who do not go to work/school tomorrow (or don’t do anything important anyway), we’ve got 2 afterparties! Our good friend DJ Patchman Marco will play his heavy metal records in Little Devil and our blogbuddies Kicking The Habit send a DJ-team to the Cul De Sac. We will be there! So if you see us with laminates around our necks, feel free to drink a beer with us!
