Filmconcert Häxan at the Filmfoyer

September 21, 2011

The controversial movie Häxan was banned from many countries and was seen as a dubious movie. The movie premiered in 1922 and even until this day the images are seen as controversial. The movie will be shown at the 26th of September at the filmfoyer Tilburg and it starts at 20.00. The screening is an idea of BKKC.

The movie is centered in the middle ages and is based on the witch hunting in that era. The beginning of the film is a documentary but it has dramatized images with elements of a classical horror movie. The film consists of seven parts which are the beginning of the witch hunting to the comparison of that with the modern women in de 1920s. The film is a silent film, and it aired with a new score on the Lowlands festival. The score was made by Kevin Toma, whom will surprise the audience again and again with his fresh new score. He will perform his new score for the movie live this year. Toma will perform with his electronic beats and samples underneath the images to enhance the images that are displayed on screen. He will be accompanied by de musicians Bianca Bongers on the Cello and Annelieke Marselje on the violin.

The filmconcert Häxan  will be a controversial and an unique experience. A must see for the Incubate audience, a silent movie with live music played underneath the images on screen!
