[Listen] New tunes by Leyland Kirby

October 4, 2011

Leyland Kirby is somewhat of a regular guest at Incubate. He visited our Whatbar nights and ZXZW back in the days with V/Vm and later he visited us at Incubate 2009 as The Caretaker. We saw performances by Leyland Kirby ranging from dark-ambient to weird electronics to Elton John livesets. And he loves to play darts, but that’s another story.

He already  released records about the working of the brain and the ballroom scene in The Shining, now his release is accompanied by a quote of Charles Baudelaire.

“We are weighed down, every moment, by the conception and the
sensation of Time. And there are but two means of escaping and
forgetting this nightmare : pleasure and work. Pleasure consumes us.
Work strengthens us. Let us choose.”

His new record is called ‘Eager To Tear Apart The Stars‘. It’s filled with soothing, but dark ambient soundscapes. You can find it on bandcamp, and buy the record from there.
