A great way to begin the Thursday morning is with a piece of artwork. Fabrice Wittner made a great project in New Zealand called Enlightened Souls. The project Enlightened souls is about the earthquake in Christchurch in 2011 and it was the largest natural disaster in New Zealand’s history. It claimed the lives of 181 people and leaving 30 billion dollar in rebuilding costs. This earthquake touched and inspired Wittner to confront the destruction the best way, by making art. He started taking portraits in Christchurch’s streets, turned them to real sized stencils before going in the streets again to paint them in a frame. During long exposures of light and working with a lot of ambient light he created thin portraits that appear almost like holograms.
