[InQ&A] 8 questions for Mike Dando (Con-Dom)

August 14, 2012

Only a month until Incubate 2012. For the past few months we’ve been announcing new artists every week. But with 200 + artists coming up in September we can imagine you losing your hold. That’s why we compiled the Incubate 2012 Spotify playlistSubscribing to this playlist will get you acquainted with most of the bands. Apart from their music, part of the getting-to-know-them-better-proces will also be us asking some of the artists a few questions in the upcoming months. Here are 8 answers by Mike Dando of Con-Dom.

Where are you at the moment? What about last night? Where do you want to be?
At home in front of the pc answering your questions.

At home in front of the TV with kids watching Olympics

Alone on the barren moorlands which overshadow my home – where I can truly feel ‘at home’.

When and where is your next gig?

INCUBATE, 013, Stage 01, 15/9, 23.15

What do you think is the best part of being an artist?
Go ask an artist. The best part of ‘being’ CON-DOM is the pure freedom of honest expression.

What would you be doing if it wasn’t for music?
Go ask a musician. If it wasn’t for CON-DOM I would be bored, mentally ill or dangerous or all three.

What song is in your head right now?
The increasingly annoying dance track that accompanies every Olympics preview on the BBC mixed with “Chariots of Fire”.

Which festival did you last go to just for visiting instead of performing?
The Otley Folk Festival

Do you have any band-rituals? Seen any weird ones along your way?
No and no.

What do you think to expect from Incubate festival?

Never performed in Holland before in almost 30 years – maybe we find out why.
