[Go See] Accelerators, Shaking Godspeed, LSD on CIA & more on Zebra Festival 2012

August 15, 2012

Our new intern is allready taking a few days off due to preparations for Zebra Festival, of which he’s a part of the organization. We’ve asked him to highlight three participating artists. Zebra Festival takes place on Friday the 17th and Saturday the 18th of August in and around cultural music venue De Bunker in Gemert. The organization mainly focuses on alternative singer-songwriters and rock related bands next to more mainstream dj’s, complemented with local art projects.

Accelerators
The Netherlands based punk rock band Accelerators is influenced by classics such as Ramones, Screeching Weasel, Dwarves and Rancid. They’ve been around since 2003 and played all over Europe (they did Incubate in 2010!). Over the past years Accelerators have shared the stage with Rise Against, Digger and the Pussycats (#incu12), Alexisonfire and Bloody Hollies.

Shaking Godspeed
Dutch blues and rock band Shaking Godspeed was founded in 2009 by vocalist Wout Kemkens after his previous band, The Bloody Honkies, decided to quit. In the same year, Shaking Godspeed released their first self-titled LP from indepented record label Quadrofoon Records. You may have seen them perform on Incubate (2010), Bospop or Noorderslag.

LSD on CIA
This three-piece thrash rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark was formed in 2009 and have been playing non-stop since. Recently they wrote and performed the soundtrack for a Danish theatre play, since then LSD on CIA is intending to involve more progressive artists in their creations. Previously the band appeared on Newbees Festival, Start! Festival and Sziget.
