[Incu Thursday] More dance, more hardcore and more art for #incu12

August 23, 2012

Only 18 days and 3 hours away until the official opening of Incubate. But that does not alter the urge to optimize the already killer line-up we managed to compile so far. We’ve now added some more artists and projects to the already packed Incubate-week. Here’s what we got for you today:

Hans Stevens: de weg bij het boek EN
Hans Stevens (1948) has been asking himself why people do what they do since 1957, and has been struggling through his, besides this aspect, relatively normal life Later it became a bit more serious, a rapport to and of the world, first singing and clinging, later painting, drawing and calculating from brain to the far ends of the universe. This collection, called the EN collection, is now over 2 million pages deep. Called EN (translates as ‘AND’) because of the principle that lies at its roots. A multidimensional language design, fully explained and formed in the book with the same name: ‘ de weg bij het een boek EN’.

The EN collection (translates as ‘AND’) will be shown at two different locations, Argument and Galerie Kokon. Each of them will show different aspects of the same EN collection throughout the entire week of the festival. Be sure to don’t miss out on the chance to see this man’s life’s work.

Incutour
Talking about once in a life time chances, this year we offer you a peek behind the scenes of Incubate. Many people have heard of the festival but do not know exactly what is going on. Therefore, on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th of September, we offer a free bus tour around the festival, whereby the several components are explained by people who work at Incubate. Language of this tour will be Dutch. Subscribe now at tour@incubate.org!

Music
Now let’s move on to the music. DIEP from Tilburg will host the Stage01 at the 013-venue on the Saturday. Two Diep-resident dj’s Bakvorm and Hosman will take you on a deephouse, minimal, ambient exploration while Moodymann, Nathan Fake and Jan Jelinek are doing their thing in 013′s Kleine Zaal. Stijn Selecter will be spinning some records in-between those artists.

All of you who want to clench their fists and grit their teeths on that Saturday we recommend you to head over to v39. Where the following hardcore artist Midnight Souls (photo) will get together with Together to provide you with a descent doses of ear-splitting music.

Camping
And when you are tired of the dancing or moshing our camping is just a stone throw away from the city center and it’s actually very cheap; only 10 euros per night! So, go get your camping tickets here and pack you’re tent, strap on your backpack and come camp with us.

Share our flyer, win a t-shirt
For those who missed it on our Facebook (do you already like us?) we’ve created a photo album with every printed flyer. Go check it which one you prefer (you can choose one out of seventeen!) and click share to make all friends be aware of the festival. In return we’re going to give away five unique Incubate t-shirt, which are in different colours, shapes, sizes and sexes.

Mothers for acid + some other acid stuff!

June 18, 2013

thatcher

Chris Moss has a mother. And that mother approves of acid house. We can’t help but feel that if Chris Moss’ mother would have been prime-minister instead of Margaret Thatcher, that the Acid House movement would have been -for better or for worse- very different.  Here is Chris’ mom, approving of her son playing acid [...]
