Last year Deerhoof performed at an evening organised by Incubated at 013, Tilburg. On July, 21 they will be back in the Netherlands for a performance in EKKO, Utrecht and you can win tickets for this show! Pitchfork called them “the best band in the world” so you certanly do not want to miss this. See below how you can win the tickets.
The crazy band Deerhoof was founded in 1994 in San Francisco and grew from an obscure noise act to a leading indie band. Their unique sound can be described as a blend of traditional indie pop and and noise pop. Attractive, but also noisy dissonant. Satomi Matzusaki gives the music bizarre and sweet vocals, which are sometimes in English and sometimes in a language she invented herself. The New York Times describes Deefhoof as “one of the most original rock bands to have come along in the last decade”.

Support act for this evening is Karawane, the band from new songwriter Anne Caesar van Wieren. He founded this band in 2014 after having written all the songs. Anne’s goal was finding a group of creative musicians who would turn this music into their own. The music moves back and forth between whispering songs and cacophony. The band was inspired by Captain Beefheart, The Flaming Lips, Beck, Sonic Youth, Akron / Family, Sufjan Stevens and Sigur Ros:
