[Go See] A Winged Victory for the Sullen @ Concertzaal Tilburg

November 25, 2015

Incubate is extremely proud to continue its collaboration with Theaters Tilburg and present ‘Fluisterzacht’ – a series of concerts for five Sunday afternoons. As the name suggests, these afternoons are dedicated to minimal and ambient music, offering a quiet respite from the frenzy that is our life.

This Sunday (29/11) will bring the magnificent ‘A Winged Victory for the Sullen‘. A collaboration between Adam Wiltzie (of Stars of the Lid) and American pianist and composer Dustin O’Halloran, A Winged Victory.. provides the ideal space for the development of extraordinary soundscapes. Wiltzie’s unique atmospheric guitar sounds find a perfect match in O’Halloran’s soft and lilting melodies, ultimately bringing together a beautiful, sombre mix of piano and strings, coiled with subtle drone and layers of noise.
With each succeeding release, the duo has constantly created a fresh union of classical sounds with bursts of electronics and synthesizers, by consistently progressing into uncharted musical territories. Their sound is as melancholic as it is uplifting; as immersive as it is isolative.

No surprise that AWFTS are an Incubate favorite, having performed an excellent set in 2012:

This Sunday, expect to see their glorious neo-classical compositions and dive into what will undoubtedly be a distinctive sonic experience.
