It’s Thursday again, the day that we announce all things happening during the run-up of this year’s Incubate. As an independent festival we love to involve others. New persons participating alongside our point of view yields new ideas, critical notes and a lot of energy. On the other hand it prevents tunnel vision and slumber. This Incu Thursday emphasizes on that what is important to us; collaboration and participation!

Louder than War and Incendiary Magazine curate V39
The two webzines join forces for the curatorship of V39.  The two of them also got something to celebrate as well. Louder than War celebrates its label launch and Incendiarymag celebrates their 10th anniversary. John Robb (photo), editor in chief of Louder than War, was a guest at Incubate 2011. He then performed with his band Goldblade and interviewed Steve Ignorant at the DIY Conference.

As collaborations yields new ideas they’ve come up with their own theme for their curatorship: “Cultural Cringe”. Cultural Cringe will host a number of bands that don’t fit – bands who are old, ugly, uncool and un-rock, ignored acts, nobodies, bands singing in strange languages, and bands who are strangers in their own lands.  These bands are:

Ravage! Ravage! Friday, 14 September - A glossy Gothicke pop band of the highest tradition
The Membranes Friday, 14 September - Post-punk band playing for the first time in 20 years in The Netherlands
Nouveau Vélo Saturday, 15 September - Provincial lads making a tremendous racket that brings the Undertones to mind
Plant Duw Saturday 15, September - Playing burning and psychotic Welsh language rock
Paranoid Visions Saturday, 15 September - 30 years of fierce DIY punk rock, recently found sudden success with 2 top 10 hits in Ireland
Fawn Spots Sunday, 16 September - Two piece that managed to translate the rush, imagination and energy of underground rock into pop
Gul Night Out Sunday, 16 September - Truly out there experimental non-pop pop music, possibly one of the most enigmatic noise acts around
Boutros Bubba  Sunday, 16 September - Wild, weird and absurd, cocking a snook at Beefheart and Slayer

New Jacks 4.0 selected artists

For the fourth time we invited young artists to create new work for our festival. Since last year we collaborate together with bkkc on a shared exhibition by artists that graduated not yet, or less than 5 years ago at a Brabant art academy. For the first time we invited artists to submit themselves for New Jacks 4.0. All the selected artist will work with the theme: “You are Incubate”, the selected artists are Jordy Koevoets, Petra van Noort, Angela de Weijer, Robert Lombarts and Erik van Liere.

Open Source Poetry

In addition to earlier Open Source Arts projects there is now an Open Source Poetry. The design is the same as the other projects: we offer the stage to everyone that wants to participate. This happens through several ways:

- All entries are published on this blog.
- One poem from each contributor will be chosen and recited during the festival week (10-16 September 2012) in a special program on Incubate radio.
- Some selected contributors will be invited to recite own poems during the Incubate Poetry-nights. Prior to this they will get a workshop from a professional poet, who will recite during the same night.

Do you want to be in the spotlights with your poetry? Send your entry before August 13 (including your name, e-mail and telephone number) to poetry@incubate.org.

Conditions:
- Only own work
- Maximum of 5 poems
- Because of the available time we prefer poems that aren’t that long

Everybody who contributes will participate. There are no further cost. We don’t ask any commission for publications or assignments as a result of participating at Open Source Poetry.

In aansluiting op succesvolle eerdere Open Source Artsprojecten van Incubate, is er nu ook Open Source Poetry. De opzet is even simpel als bij de andere projecten: Wij bieden een podium aan iedereen die mee wil doen. Dat gebeurt op verschillende manieren:

Om te beginnen worden de inzendingen gepubliceerd op het blog van Incubate (www.inlog.org, 1.000+ bezoekers per dag).Daarnaast zal per inzender één gedicht worden geselecteerd om tijdens de festivalweek (10-16 september 2012) te worden voorgedragen in een speciaal programma op Incubate Radio.

Tenslotte zal enkele geselecteerde inzenders worden gevraagd om uit eigen werk te komen voordragen tijdens de Incubate Poetry-avonden. Die vinden plaats op woensdag 12 en donderdag 13 september. Voorafgaand aan het optreden krijgen deze mensen een workshop van één van de professionele dichters die op diezelfde avond zullen voordragen.

Dus wil je met je poëzie in de schijnwerpers staan? Stuur dan je inzending voor 13 augustus (incl. je volledige naam, e-mailadres en telefoonnummer) naar poetry@incubate.org.

Usually we announce new confirmations on Thursday, but because it’s World Goth Day we’re sharing some new confirmations for Incubate ’12 today. We reached a total of 95 confirmed artist with these four new additions:

We are very proud to present the exclusive performance by the legendary English goth rock band Fields of the Nephilim. By incorporating elements from heavy metal and Carl McCoy’s trademark growled vocals they have been setting the standard in the gothic scene since 1984. They haven’t performed  in the Netherlands since 1988! For World Goth Day (today!), the band has been awarded with ‘Best 90′s goth band’ and ‘Best 2000′s goth band’ of 2012. Friday, 14 September - Gothic rock, eighties, rock noir

Yes, we managed to get the rarely performing Darkwood to play Incubate 2012! Darkwood is the neofolk unity of many different elements. From traditional themes and acoustic instruments with experimental soundscapes and samples and mixing English and German lyrics. They only performed live 16 times and their last performance was in 2007, which makes this occasion extra special.

Renowned extreme noise act Consumer Electronics will definitely make some ears bleed during Incubate. Vast walls of noise are coming your way with power electronics interspersed with industrial sound. Walls that will vaporize every eardrum that comes unprepared.
Saturday, 15 September - Noise, industrial, power electronics

The collective Drum Eyes led by Shigeru Ishihara aka DJ Scotch Egg, notorious from his Game Boy act.  With this collective he and his fellow musicians explore different facets of electronic music. As you can see from the numerous of different genre-tags used, this band is mixing more elements than your average blender.

Incubate is a small festival with a lot of artists. Your help is more than welcome when it comes to promoting Incubate. So if you’re planning on going to some cool gigs or festivals the months prior Incubate, let us know! We can send you a nice package containing Incubate flyers and posters to pass on to your friends and fellow concert goers to get the word out.

Damo Suzuki is the former singer of one of the most influential bands of the last century: Can. In 1983, the krautrock-pioneer starts the Damo Suzuki’s Network, later to become the biggest band on earth. He performed with 4,000 different local sound carriers in 40 countries.

You might have heard it already: The Damo Suzuki’s Network will perform at Incubate! This will be three unique shows with completely different band members. At the moment we are looking for musicians who are willing to play together with Damo. Everyone can join, from visitors to international musicians of each skill, background and age. We only require you to bring your own instrument.

The shows will take place at the 14^th, the 15^th and the 16^th of September from 20:00 until 21:30. The formations will consist of both visitors and musicians who are already part of the line-up of Incubate. So you not only get the chance to play together with Damo, but maybe with a member of your favourite band as well! Besides, you’ll get free entrance to the festival on the day you are playing.

We are very proud to announce that for the project “Glocal 2012”, Incubate offer you an opportunity to win a residency at organic farm ‘t Schop in Hilvarenbeek, a small village just outside of Tilburg.  A professional jury, comprised of representatives from Incubate, ‘t Schop, LIB (the agricultural organization for the Brabant province) and the town of Hilvarenbeek, will choose the best idea, which will be rewarded with the possibility to work and live on the farm for two weeks in September 2012, and perform at the annual Incubate festival in Tilburg, September 10-16, 2012. SEND US YOUR APPLICATIONS BEFORE JUNE 4^th!

To apply, you have to meet up a number of criteria:
- You are not from the Netherlands or Belgium (the Global part of things).
- You are a musician, or music is the main discipline of your art-practice (multi-disciplinary artists are welcome).
- You are a solo artist, a duo or a trio.
- You live in a city.
- You are ready, willing and able to produce a new work / artistic product based upon your experiences during your stay on the farm.
Your proposal needs to be focused on the following ideas / parameters:
- The project aims on generating dynamics between urban and rural communities, in this case those of Tilburg and Hilvarenbeek.
- The idea has both global and local aspects.
- Your project uses the farm as a gateway towards the town of Hilvarenbeek and its people, cultural life and communities (for a list of organizations and other information, please check the appendix of this document). We encourage activities together with the local communities during your stay.
- Your project creates awareness about the agricultural function of the farm and its products.

We offer you:
- A residency of minimum 10 days, maximum two weeks at biological farm ‘t Schop in Hilvarenbeek.
- This residency will be in the period of Sept 5 – Sept 16^th, 2012, right before the Incubate Festival.
- Travel expenses to and from Hilvarenbeek & Tilburg for the residency and the shows.
- Hospitality of the van den Broek family for two weeks, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, and of course a bed.
- A unique possibility to join the farmer in his daily routine on the farm, and work with the farm animals and crops.
- The possibility to work in a relaxing and inspiring environment.
- The possibility to connect to a lot of new interesting people and ideas.
- Two slots at the annual Incubate festival in Tilburg, in the weekend of September 14, 15 or 16, 2012, to present your project. These slots consist of:

o    One show at ‘t Schop, with complimentary lunch / diner for the attendants – Sept 16^th
o    One show at one of the festival venues in the city of Tilburg – Sept 14, 15 or 16th.

Furthermore, we will offer you productional backing and documentation:
- A basic sound studio (speakers, microphones, (digital) recording materials, and special equipment  and devices you might require for your artistic work. (Everything within reason of course).
- Other work materials, again within realistic boundaries.
- A calm and quiet workspace at ‘t Schop.
- You get the opportunity to write about your experiences, and get it published on the Inlog.org blog of Incubate (1000 unique visitors per day). Furthermore, we make a small documentary on the project, which we will launch on the Incubate Vimeo channel. Of course, you can use this documentary for your own promotional purposes as well.

Are you an independent filmmaker, animator, documentary maker or video artist and would you like to have your film screened as part of the Incubate 2012 official film program? Submit your film, and maybe you’ll win the Incubate Film Award!

On our GetSatisfastion community we gave everyone the opportunity to share thoughts concerning this years line-up. We already had more than 250 replies with many great suggestions for this years edition. We want to thank everybody that already participated!

Incubate  launched the Incubate API to make all festival-data available for use in apps, websites or even art created by Incubate-minded developers. The Incubate API is an Ally API, a REST oriented JSON Web Service Interface to communicate with the Ally database. Information about artists, time schedules, venues or the latest festival news can be easily collected using the API.

Contest
Everyone who thinks he has a good idea and makes an app or a website for it using the Incubate API, gets the chance to win 500,- euros. You can participate on your own, with a team or with your business. All apps are welcome, iOS/Android/BlackBerry apps, (mobile) websites, mashups with other apps like FourSquare and Spotify; whatever you want! And if you got multiple awesome ideas, you can even submit more than one application.

There are three prizes 
1st prize: 500 euros
2nd prize: 2x Incubate festival passepartouts
3rd prize: 2x Incubate festival daytickets for a day of your choice

If you want to participate in the contest, you can submit your finished application before May 10th, 2012 12:00 PM via api@incubate.org. Please include the following info:
- Application name + description about the app and the idea
- Platform information
- URL (if website/online mashup), or installfile (if possible) for app. We’d like to test the app.
- A video of the app is a plus, but not required.
- Screenshots of your application + descriptions
- Full names of all people who created the app

All submitted apps will be published on the Incubate website on a special app page, including all necessary information and links to the app or app store. Of course you do not transfer any intellectual right to Incubate when you submit your Incubate API app. You will be responsible for submitting the app to the app store of your choice if needed, you can make your app free or charge for it.

Judging
After May 10th, 2012, a jury of employees from the Incubate and Freshheads organizations will judge the submitted apps and pick the winners. Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Quality of the idea (originality, creativity)
2. Implementation of the idea
3. Potential of your website/app; is it a good addition for Incubate fans?

Incubate Scene Report is a project we present in cooperation with Cul de Sac. We recently had our second edition of Scene Report with Groningen bands WOLVON and Earth Control and free shows from Sleep Party People and Pinkunoizu in 013. It was an awesome night, and now we are all the more excited to announce our next edition!

This month we will dive into the Rotterdam music scene. Exploring all that’s going on around this harbour city. For this edition we are happy and proud to announce Crowds and Neon Rainbows.

Crowds are a trio. They have been mentioned as an Amsterdam or Utrecht based band, but this band really is from Rotterdam, where all songs are written and composed. Crowds go from garage-rock to noisepop, keeping a grooving undertone all the while through.

Neon Rainbows  is a band that has been on the scene for a longer time. With four band members who have all played in different bands and settings (Feverdream, Model Fuckers, At No Bikini Beach) together they formed Neon Rainbows: a mix of pop, shoegaze and noise. Their debut album ‘An Idea For A Plan’ was released on Subroutine Records, listen to it below.

We’re thrilled to announce that martial industrial-band Laibach will perform on the Incubate Sunday. Roadburn ’12 highlight Conan will bring their doom/sludge back to Tilburg, and Busdriver is the first hiphop confirmation. Mark Sultan is replacing Royal Headache, who cancelled their European tour and last but not least we booked the dutch synth sensation Earth Control.

Also added is the hand-drawed film Midori-Ko and the shortfilm Body Memory.

The versatility of artists in this Incu Thursday emphasises our proposition. You know: ‘Black metal next to free jazz’,  that part. These are the names we can confirm for Incubate 2012:

One of the big names in the dub-techno scene Andy Stott and the talented young guitar virtuoso Cian Nugent.  The renowned free-jazz/free-noise combo Fully Blown (Horacio Pollard & Danny O’Really) next to the trans-media project by Marc Richter called Black To Comm, who will play a live soundtrack along with the silent film ‘Earth’ by Ho Tzu Nyen. For this occasion assisted by Vindicatrix among others.

Wait, there is more. Attention doom, stoner & drones fans: Stinking Lizaveta, Ides of Gemini, Darsombra (photo) and Tarentatec will provide a descent doses of blackened music. If you like it a little bit faster Holy Roar provides us each year hard-hitting metal and hardcore bands. This time it’s up to Monolith and Desolated to fulfil that humble task. Last but certainly not least its up to the enchanting Norwegian/Dutch  Jæ to complete the melting pot.

We also got the confirmations for the first two films of our film program.  The Zellner Bros are present with their film Kid-Thing, a fever-dream fable about the desolate and rebellious girl Annie. The other film is the short documentary Framing the Other by Ilja Kok and Willem Timmers. A documentary about the awkward encounters between tourists and the Mursi woman of Southern Ethiopia.

It is really hard to capture all that what happens during Incubate festival, with more  than 200 cutting edge artists, from black metal,free jazz,art projects, expo’s, debates and more. We asked Jef Monté from Dieper beeld to do so and somehow he managed. We asked you, our festival visitor, to send in own-made videos, which we have put in this video. American rock n roller Dan Sartain is confirmed for the following edition of Incubated. The lo-fi rockabilly back-to-basics troubadour toured as opening act with The Hives and White Stripes. Now he will perform together with fellow countryman Sic Alps.

Join the largest art project in the world. Together we are going to create the largest version of the Inside Out project ever at Incubate 2012. All residents of Tilburg can participate. The project transforms personal portraits into art and then makes them visible in the city. To make this all possible we need your help.

Anonymous artist, citizens of Tilburg in the spotlight
People make art and the streets are the largest gallery in the world. JR is an anonymous French artist. He is the driving force behind this project and consciously chooses for a place in the background. He uses streets worldwide as exhibition spaces which he attracts the attention of everyone, including people who are not museum visitors. The portraits are exhibited in various places, in front of windows of houses, at offices or on special columns. Old women become models and children become artist. With Inside Out, JR won the TED award in 2011, which is also won by Bono, Jamie Oliver and Bill Clinton. With those proceeds, the project is partially funded. There is also an international movie made about this project, which will have a prominent place in Tilburg. So let’s all get together and show Tilburg from its best side.

Mothers central
The theme of the Tilburg edition of Inside Out is mothers. So we all together let them know we appreciate them. Joyous young mothers till grandmothers full of wisdom and experience. These mothers have made a significant contribution to Tilburg, we think that all mothers deserve the attention to show them in all the beauty and diversity.

At www.insideouttilburg.nl you can upload your portrait. For €10,-, the picture will be transformed into a great work of art in New York. You can write down that what makes the mother on the photo special. Through a special app it will be possible to scan each poster and see the text on your smartphone. Therefore the text will not be printed on the poster.

Yesterday evening we made this project, the follow-up to the successful Play Me, I’m Yours-project, public in the theatre of Tilburg. The whole audience was psyched make this project to a success. Hurray, another Incu Thursday! Today we got six new names for you to announce for Incubate 2012, which happens on 10 to 16 September in Tilburg, NL.

We are glad to confirm the following artists for this year’s festival: Black Dice, Silver Apples, Mozes and the Firstborn, Paul Collins’ Beat, Die Jungen and The KVB.

In 2011 we did a call for films for the Open Source Film program. There was a tremendous response to this call. The films varied from hilarious animation films to independent documentaries to visual experiments. The result was an open source film program with independent and original films that fit very well in the diverse program of Incubate.

The first Incubate Film Award
This year we want the festival audience to be actively involved as well, by asking for their opinion about the films screened in the Open Film blocks. All visitors of the Open Film program will get the chance to vote for the films. The film that the audience deems best will receive the very first Incubate Film Award!  Everyone can submit their film. With these entries, Incubate programs interesting blocks of film and then the audience gets the chance to ‘like’ the films screening in the Open Film Program. The film with the most likes wins the Incubate Film Award!

Participate

Are you an independent filmmaker, animator, documentary maker or video artist and would you like to have your film screened as part of the Incubate 2012 official film program? Submit your film, and maybe you’ll win the Incubate Film Award!

Films may not be longer than 40 minutes. All genres are welcome. Submission deadline is June 1st 2012. For more info contact our film curator Jantien Borsboom at jantien@incubate.org

Incubate Open Film 10 – 16 september 2012

Maker = Jury = Audience
Why are we doing this? We want to involve the Incubate audience actively in our festival. With social media like Twitter and Facebook we got the possibility to directly voice our opinion about everything, all the time. The casting of maker, curator, jury and audience is already history. With the development of the internet and social media, we all get the chance to play the part that fits us best.

We can play the part of the maker and upload our video’s to YouTube or Vimeo, or play the part of curator by selecting video’s and creating a blog or channel. We can play the part of the jury by ‘liking’ a video, which may result in the video to go ‘viral’ and to be seen by a great amount of people.

With the Incubate Open Film program, we create a similar situation within the festival.

Hurray, another Incu Thursday! Today we got a few hands full of new names for you to announce for Incubate 2012, which happens on 10 to 16 September in Tilburg, NL.

Incubate is elated to present an extensive Sacred Bones in Residence program. On Saturday September 15th and Sunday 16th, the record label will host a stage in the 013 venue. Currently confirmed artists are The Men, Iceage, War, Amen Dunes, Lower and Lust For Youth. More names will be added to this program soon.
Also confirmed for the music program are Luke Roberts, Killed By 9V Batteries, RM Hubbert and Pretty Lightning.

But wait, there’s more! Just like previous year, Incubate presents the DIY Conference. The first speakers and panels are now confirmed: - Keynote: Simon Reynolds on DIY Pop Culture - The Guerilla Filmmakers Guide with Chris Jones - British Sea Power, bird watching and fell walking: an interview with Roy Wilkinson - Q&A with Damo Suzuki (ex-Can)

Incubate wants as many people as possible to participate in the festival. We invite everyone to exhibit their art at the Open Source Expo during Incubate. You can now send in your work for the Expo via http://incubate.org/expo/

All forms of art are permitted. From traditional oil-painting to conceptual sculptural art, from surrealist photos to light-installation and the size of an aircraft to that of a postage stamp. Everything is welcome and everything gets the attention it deserves.

Our curator arranges the exhibition and will fit everything together, regardless of the origin of the work. Works in content and form or method and style are put together. In 2011 this resulted in a expo with a great diversity and a high quality of work.

This year the Open Source Expo will take place in the beautiful Koepelhal in the center of Tilburg. This is a former railway workshop that is being converted into exhibition space. That is why; in 2012 there is room for even more art than in 2011. Last year, the Open Source Expo showed 113 works from professional artists to benevolent enthusiasts.

Register before 10 June 2012 through the form. You can find the link below.
Submit pictures of at least two and up to five works of art. The curator chooses one piece for the exhibition. There are no exclusions: everyone who applies joins in. To participate there are no additional costs

Titanic II - 2D by Shane van Dyke (2010, US, 90 min)
On the 100th anniversary of the original voyage, a modern luxury liner christened “Titanic 2,” follows the path of its namesake. But when a tsunami hurls an iceberg into the new ship’s path, the passengers and crew must fight to avoid a similar fate.

This year it really is 100 years ago the RMS Titanic sank after colliding with an iceberg. For James Cameron a good excuse to re-release his ‘Titanic’ in 3D, and make a shitload of money. For Incubate, a good excuse to re-screen the Incubate 2010′s big hit ‘Titanic II’ in 2D! And, as always in the Incubios, for free! So, if you’ve missed the European premiere of this awesome sequel at Incubate 2010 , or you simply did not fit into the sold out Filmfoyer anymore, now is your chance to see it!

Incubate  launched the Incubate API to make all festival-data available for use in apps, websites or even art created by Incubate-minded developers. The Incubate API is an Ally API, a REST oriented JSON Web Service Interface to communicate with the Ally database. Information about artists, time schedules, venues or the latest festival news can be easily collected using the API.

Contest
Everyone who thinks he has a good idea and makes an app or a website for it using the Incubate API, gets the chance to win 500,- euros. You can participate on your own, with a team or with your business. All apps are welcome, iOS/Android/BlackBerry apps, (mobile) websites, mashups with other apps like FourSquare and Spotify; whatever you want! And if you got multiple awesome ideas, you can even submit more than one application.

There are three prizes 
1st prize: 500 euros
2nd prize: 2x Incubate festival passepartouts
3rd prize: 2x Incubate festival daytickets for a day of your choice

If you want to participate in the contest, you can submit your finished application before May 10th, 2012 12:00 PM via api@incubate.org. Please include the following info:
- Application name + description about the app and the idea
- Platform information
- URL (if website/online mashup), or installfile (if possible) for app. We’d like to test the app.
- A video of the app is a plus, but not required.
- Screenshots of your application + descriptions
- Full names of all people who created the app

All submitted apps will be published on the Incubate website on a special app page, including all necessary information and links to the app or app store. Of course you do not transfer any intellectual right to Incubate when you submit your Incubate API app. You will be responsible for submitting the app to the app store of your choice if needed, you can make your app free or charge for it.

Judging
After May 10th, 2012, a jury of employees from the Incubate and Freshheads organizations will judge the submitted apps and pick the winners. Submissions will be judged on the following criteria:
1. Quality of the idea (originality, creativity)
2. Implementation of the idea
3. Potential of your website/app; is it a good addition for Incubate fans?

It’s Thursday again so we bring you the new artists confirmed for Incubate 2012. This time we’ve added five artists to our line-up and in case you haven’t noticed yet, our line-up page’s improved. As always, if you log in with your account on our site you can adjust the bio’s, compile your own timetable and collect credits for everything you contribute.

The following new artist are added to the line-up: 100% Silk figureheads Mi Ami (photo) + solo projects Sex Worker (Daniel Martin-McCormick) and Magic Touch (Damon Palermo). Voor de vierde maal nodigt Incubate jonge kunstenaars uit nieuw werk te maken voor het succesvolle festivalonderdeel NEW JACKS. Sinds vorig jaar doet Incubate dit in samenwerking met bkkc, die naast een prachtige expositieruimte ook de mogelijkheid tot zakelijke begeleidingstrajecten en diverse cursussen bieden aan de deelnemers. NEW JACKS richt zich specifiek op kunstenaars die nog niet, of minder dan vijf jaar geleden, zijn afgestudeerd aan een Brabantse kunstacademie, of hun basis in Brabant hebben. Kunstenaars die afkomstig zijn uit Brabant, maar inmiddels elders studeren en gestudeerd hebben, worden dit jaar ook toegelaten.

In het verleden werden er steevast vijf kunstenaars geselecteerd door diverse projectpartners, zoals Fontys,St Joost, WEI, TAC en Whatspace, maar dit jaar worden de rollen omgedraaid. Voor het eerst krijgen kunstenaars de mogelijkheid zich aan te melden voor New Jacks 4.0 met een plan voor een werk of project.

Heb jij interesse om deel te nemen aan dit onderdeel van het Incubate festival en heb je een goed idee voor een nieuw werk dat je wilt tonen bij bkkc tijdens Incubate? Under the name Incubate Scene Report we are putting a city in the spotlight. Two weeks ago we wrote an article about the music scene in Copenhagen and last week we hosted a night at Cul de Sac with two bands from Haarlem. This will get a follow-up, at the 26th of April there is going to be a new edition of Incubate Scene Report, this time Groningen will get our attention.

Two bands from Groningen are hitting the stage the 26th. First Earth Control, a nice lo-fi garage band with electronics. They got pretty weird Dutch lyrics, including song titles as ‘ Passen jullie maar op (de digitale snelweg)’, ‘Ik tolereer je zoals je bent’ and ‘Sommige dingen kun je beter door je oogharen bekijken’.

Next up is the band Wolvon. They’re a postpunk/noiserock band and released a  7″ on the Subroutine record label.

It’s again at Cul de Sac and the entrance is for free. So.. make sure you put 26 of April in your agenda.

For the 7th of June we have planned the 18th edition of Incubated. We already announced that Harvey Milk will perform that evening and today we are announcing a new name: Circle.

You can’t accuse this Finish band from being irrelevant. After more than twenty years they’re still reinventing themselves and making innovative records. With Jussi Lehtisalo as only initial member the band is still mixing successfully kraut rock with hard rock riffs. By the way; Circle isn’t unknown in Tilburg; there were artist-in-residence at Roadburn festival last year and they played at Incubate 2010.

We are really excited to have them again and of course we hope you’ve got the same feeling too. By the way, make sure you’ll get your tickets on time.
