In November 2011 we posted a small preview of this record, but now you can hear it in full. Yeah they changed their name into the shorter Dodecahedron but the music is still just as chaotic, menacing, very well composed and executed as the first time you heard it.

We’re very proud that one of the best  black metal releases of 2012 is made by this horde from Tilburg. Check it out below (most probably only available to January 27th, so don’t waste your time). Or check it out on Spotify.

The English artist Matt Stokes (1973) makes work in which performance, music ans social engagement come together. His artistic practice is marked by anthropological research and an interest in events of informal movements theat bind people together. His work exists from intensive research and active collaboration with local communities, studying  the social and visual language of specific subcultures. Has has explored different genres of music, like Northern Soul, acid/ house and black metal, revealing music as a universal language to create fellowship and community. This often is presented in video and sculptural installations, sometime outside of the traditional gallery space.

Yes. ‘Satanic Pop Metal’ is the albumtitle. We think it’s a cynical view on the philosophical dilemma between the decline of human elusiveness, while the evocative incipient of panacea is nowhere to be found.

Vegan Black Metal Chef is back! Last time Chef cooked up some trve vegan pad thai, but this time he has a variety of recipes for you all. Cut the potato….on the altar!

Title says it all! Aura Noir played at the Inferno Festival last month. On drumkit this time was Kristian of Obliteration, who are also set to perform at Incubate this year. Thrash on!

The Belgian black metal act Gorath (ZXZW 2008) played at Dynamo last weekend alongside the likes of Taake and Vulture Industries. There’s some quality footage of a cover they did from ‘Sworn To The Dark’ from Watain (also ZXZW 2008). Enjoy!

Noise/black metal act Locrian have just uploaded the video for their over 10 minutes lasting trip ‘Elevations and Depths’. You can also download the track for free here.

“The 2nd full length, entitled »The Darkest Of Grays« features 12 songs that are pretty much different from their 1st self-titled record. The band focused more on the dynamic aspekt in their music instead of sheer brutality. The songs are all full of different nuances, tempi changes and have an undeniable sense of melody. Stylewise don’t expect pop music here, even though there are clearly some structures of a classic (80′s dark-wave) hints to be found. If you feel the urge to describe the whole thing, you could imagine a blending of Breach’s »Kollapse« with Mastodon’s »Leviathan« mixed with Isis »Oceanic«, »Closer« by Joy Division and some classic Norwegian black metal such as Dark Throne’s »Transilvanian Hunger«. It all sounds rather unique and contemporary. If you enjoy bands such as the ones mentioned before this record might be your cup of black coffee.”

One of the (many) highlights of last year’s Incubate festival was Liturgy, a very promissing black metal band from the USA. They have recently finished their new album ‘Aesthetica’, set to be released through Thrill Jockey on May 10th. Pitchfork made the track ‘Generation’ downloadable here. Sounds pretty different from their previous work, what do you think?

Indian are set to perform at Incubate 2011 and will release their brand new album ‘Guiltless’ through Relapse on April 25th. We’ve already previewed ‘The End of Truth’ a little while ago here and now you can listen to the track ‘Guilty’ as well on The Obelisk. Sick doomy black metal vibe on this one, don’t sleep on this!

Celeste‘s re-issue of their debut EP ‘Pessimiste(s)’ will be shipped early next week according to their Facebook page and you can pre-order your copy at the Denovali Mailorder here. Cd, vinyl, t-shirt… Whatever package you want! And the coolest thing about Celeste, besides playing at the Incubate festival this year, is they have all of their albums up for free download here as well. Try before you buy!

We’ve already posted one track of the new Anaal Nathrakh (Incubate 2009) album a little while ago on the blog, yet there is another new song from the upcoming album Passion. Decibel won’t let us embed this piece of brutality so you’ll have to visit the Decibel site here to check out this new bit! The album will be released on May 17th.

Altar of Plagues, who played at Incubate 2009, have uploaded a brand new song on Soundcloud from ‘Mammal’, which will be released on April 22th.

This is an edit from the song ‘Neptune of Dead’. Of couse the full song will be available on the record, to be released by Candlelight Records.

We’ve had Watain playing ZXZW already in 2008 (see movie) and with the release of last year’s album ‘Lawless Darkness’ they seem to attact a bigger and bigger audience with every tour to spread their orthodox, satanic blasphemous black metal! Supporting them will be the Swedish “suicidal” black metal act Shining, based around the notorious Kvarforth (who’s banned from the 013 for some bad behaviour) and Aosoth from France.

This Sunday on March 13th, the black metal ritual will take place at De Kade in Zaandam. Tickets are 17 euro’s in the pre sales so get your tickets now at their website! One more movie of Watain performing at last year’s Hellfest in france after the jump!

One of USA’s most promissing black metal bands Krallice have posted a new song of their forthcoming third full length album ‘Diotima’, to be released in April this year. If you like your black metal atmospheric, yet melancholic with fast blasting and dynamic fast riffs, you should definitely check this out. For fans of bands like Wolves In The Throne Room, Altar of Plagues, Liturgy and Weakling. The song can also be downloaded for free here.

We’ve also found some high quality footage of the release show of their last album Dimensional Bleedthrough (which is really worth checking out as well), which can be found when clicking ‘keep reading’. Enjoy!

Well not much information actually, but we also wanted to share this cool video of their performance at Incubate 2009. Anyway, their album is 100% finished according to their myspace and according to wikipedia the album will be called ‘Passion’. The Candlelight website says (about Scion fest):

“England’s ANAAL NATHRAKH were just confirmed as an additional performer, marking only the second time the band will perform on US soil. No word yet if the band will perform selections from their forthcoming album Passion, now confirmed for North American release on May 17th.”

Essential show for all you black metal fans! Glorior Belli, who have played at Incubate’s The Destroyed Room before as well and unfortunately had to pull out of ZXZW 2008, are headlining a show at Baroeg in Rotterdam this Friday! Liturgy preview the track ‘High Gold’ on Thrilljockey’s Soundcloud, which will be the opening track of the forthcoming Aesthetica album. Liturgy is one of USA’s most promissing black metal bands around at the moment and impressed us with a stunning show at Incubate 2010! The band will head out on a second European tour soon, including a performance at the Roadburn festival. Here’s the artwork for the new album as well:

“2011 is God Dethroned’s final year in existance. We could have spent another year in a tourbus because the amount of offers was endless, but I just don’t feel like touring anymore. People told me to take a break for a year or maybe two, but as I’m an ‘all, or nothingat all’ type of person, I decided to call it quits. Not immediately, but in December of this year we will definitely play our last show. That’s gonna be at the Eindhoven Metal Meeting in Holland.

“I’m very proud of what we achieved with the band, but the time has come for new challenges. I would like to thank all of our fans for their support for all these years.”

After a succesful first tour last year with bands like The Black Dahlia Murder, Necrophobic, The Faceless and Carnifex on the bill, Bonecrusher returns this year. Different line-up, same cup of tea! Italy’s orchestral death metal Fleshgod Apocalypse will kick off the evening, followed by the young but promissing Angelus Apatrida, who have toured Europe with Skeletonwitch last year. Annotations of an Autopsy and Carnifex (see video for footage of last year!) will please the crowd with some more deathcore blastbeat warfare, while Norwegian’s finest Keep of Kalessin will unleash some of their brutal, yet melodic black metal upon you. And of course, headlining the event will be Dying Fetus, the notorious brutal/tech death metal three-piece, celebrating their 20th birthday!

Jogger proves that synths and black metal can work… In a goofy way.

Unfortunately Nefarium had to cancel their gig at Incubate. Zwartplaag (NL) will replace them. They play on the 17th of September, together with Hell Militia and Inquisition at V39. After that, Liturgy will play at Little Devil.
