[Participate] NEU! remix contest

Last month NEU! has released a four vinyl box covering all their previously released material and even some unreleased live and studio recordings. NEU! and Groenland Records have now started a remix contest on TracksAndFiels.com. Remix NEU!’s new song Crazy and upload it before this Saturday. The winning mix will be featured as a bonustrack on the iTunes version of the album. All info can be found here.

Hallogallo 2010 (featuring Michael Rother and Steve Shelley) will play the music of NEU! at Incubate 2010 on Sunday September 19.

31 March Paradox hosts a Doom Drone Night featuring Thrones (USA), Nadja (CAN) and OvO (it).

Joe fuckin Preston!!!! was a member of legendary groups such as EARTH, Melvins, SunnO))) and High On Fire. THRONES is his solo project, with Preston playing all instruments, incluiding bass, drums, vocals and synths.

NADJA is a dronenoise collective from Toronto, Canada. The music is characterised by elements from psychedelica, free jazz, drone, and experimental stuff, mixed with ambient and some melodics. The future of doom?

OvO is a project of music and life . OVO are Stefania Pedretti ( also singer and guitar player of Allun ) and Bruno Dorella ( ex Wolfango , Bugo , Lava , now involved in many bands and boss of Bar La Muerte records ), often joined by friends that belong to many different musical scenes.

Net als de StukaHap is het eindfeest ook in Studio… En dit wordt niet zomaar een feestje, de finale act is een van dé electropop-artiesten van dit moment: Krause!

Krause is een echte selfmade artiest. Na jaren in punkrockbandjes te hebben gespeeld, besluit Susanne Clermonts in 2006 de gierende gitaren in te ruilen voor electro. Ze groeit in razendsnel tempo uit tot een allround performer, die haar eigen muziek schrijft en produceert. In 2008 tekent ze een platendeal bij Sony. Ze trad op tijdens Noorderslag, Eurosonic en het Amsterdam Dance Event en deelde het podium met grote namen zoals The Ting Tings, CSS en Vive La Fête.

No, not King, not King Kong, but Kong! An Amsterdam avant-garde band founded in 1989. They discontinued playing in the year 2000. In 2007, bass player Mark Drillich started looking for new bandmembers to restart the engine for Kong.

The Germs. An old punkband from LA which was active in the seventees with frontman Darby Crash. He took an overdosis the day before John Lennon got killed and the band stopped. Untill 2005. In 2005 they reformed with Shane West replacing Crash. Now they’ll play at 013 Tilburg on Thursday November 26th with support from Lords and The Reactionaries and you can win tickets!

Even more news on San Diego-bands beside the Wavves-on-Le-Guess-Who?-tip we just gave you and this time you can win tickets for it! The Night Marchers are touring Europe and will hit Tilburg’s 013 on Wednesday November 25th together with Dan Sartain and The Risque. A description from Punknews:

“The sound is a ‘combonation’ of everything I’ve been a part of dating back to my prepubescent days in Pitchfork. Similar to Hot Snakes but not as sinister yet still maintaining some of the drama and subsonic boom. Akin to the rockin’ fun of RFTC but without the same kind of riffery. Like the Sultans but not as straightforward yet still maintaining the sense of melody and pop of the 2nd record. Occasional nods to The Flamin’ Groovies, Real Kids, Byrds, boogie rock-era Status Quo, Bo Diddley, Chess Records in general, Wipers, Michael Yonkers and Shuggie Otis are evident to me.”

Le Guess Who? in Utrecht is one of the coolest festivals of The Netherlands. They used to focus merely on Canadian artists. But for their 2009 edition, they broadened their view. So the festival has an even cooler line up!

Confessions is an audio-visual project by New York’s hottest composer Nico Muhly, singersongwriter Teitur (photo) from the Faeroe Islands and the Dutch ensemble Holland Baroque Society. Nico and Teitur compose music to movies, which the public has sent in. The world première is on Wednesday 25th of November in Muziekcentrum Eindhoven and after that they will tour six venues in The Netherlands. Support is Jozef van Wissem, who performed at last Incubate and at ZXZW 2007.

When the timetables are released, you will find your favorites marked in another color, which makes it easier to plan your routes. An example of the first testversion of the timetable is given on the top of the page.
