It’s 17:00 o’clock! End of the day! Let’s celebrate! Here’s the debut videoclip from the talented Munchi (Incubate 2011). In this gem, he teamed up with LAKEY for the track ‘Not Usually‘. This is some hot shit. In times of generic, neanderthalic dubstep beats, we’re glad to break a sweat on these kick-ass tunes.

Marcel Dingemanse (1967, Breda, works and lives in Tilburg) assumes that silence manifests itself on the border of truth-thinking. Human being and its abandonment are important aspects in his video’s and photographic work.  The video work adopts its appearance from performance and film and is in all cases made in a simple way: one camera, one actor, mostly one cameraposition.

In his photographic work Dingemanse use pinhole technology, in which space, light and time with their elementary property is a main starting point. Sometime the photographs exists of portraits, but usually landscapes. The video’s and analog prints refer to romanticism and suggest a story about individual presence in a rough, inhuman landscape.

We came across this video (see below) of twenty-four-year old artist Neil Beloufa a while a go, and immediately loved it! This is where minimalistic, conceptual art, which you normally just find between the white walls of a museum, meets the real world, occupying daily routine (see above).
Looking at more of his work, it seems to be an incidental action. But the rest of his artwork is just as interesting. “I make work that reflects back on itself while I’m making it”, he says in an interview on Artslant. “My production is a means to form collusion between not only the object and myself but between the object and the viewers. The viewers’ relationship with the piece takes the place of the piece.” The interview goes on with terms like “subjectile”, “between the surfaces of the subject and object” and “stuff that keeps on balancing and isn’t too authoritarian”, referring to Artaud and Deririda. Interesting to read when you’ve got some time off. For now, just check out his visuals in this video.

We do like Timber Timbre here at Incubate, so we do like this song. But we’re writing this, because the video to ‘Do I Have Power’ is awesome. It’s dark, but with a soft heart. And it fits perfectly to the brooding song. It’s directed by Carlos De Carvalho.

Canadian hardcore outfit Fucked Up posted the first video from their new album ‘David Comes to Life’ called ‘Queen of Hearts.‘ The whole David Comes to Life project based around the album is something worth checking out by the way, visit the website over here. We had a post about Fucked Up earlier this month where you could stream the entire David Comes to Life album, check it out here.

Check out this little video about Australian artist Anthony Lister in Berlin. Lister’s work suggest influences from a number of areas and genres, including street art, expressionism, pop art and contemporary youth culture. It often deals with subject matter from popular culture, reflecting the less glamorous aspects. He occasionally draws from television and such themes as the “misguided role models” that result. Lister uses a variety of mediums to communicate his ideas such as painting, drawing, installation, film and music.
